It allows a morphological study: origin of reflux, diameter of venous trunks, parietal thickness, presence of thrombosis (direct visualization, incompressibility).
Owing to the incompressibility of the elastomeric material, the intermediate ring is shrunk and compresses the adjacent elastomeric part.
